Indexes
The fine rolls can be searched using the following indexes. The indexes are those for the rolls for the first to the eighteenth year of King Henry's reign, that is from 28 October 1216 to 27 October 1234. They thus embrace the first phase of the reign from the king's accession to his partial entry into regal powers in December 1223, his adoption of full power in 1227 and the administratons of the justiciar Hubert de Burgh and Peter des Roches, bishop of Winchester, culminating in the rebellion of Richard Marshal. The indexes will be updated to include further rolls as the project progresses: the indexes for the rolls from 28 October 1234 to 27 October 1242 will go online in 2010.
